Observed the pipe of the hand wash sink in disrepair. “Perimeter roofs do not effectively protect establishment against environmental cross contamination.” “Food contaminated by leaking water from the ceiling through the hood due to rain or condensation of the A/C on top of preparation table that splashed on the gyro meat.” Observed water leaking from the ceiling through the hood on preparation table cook line splashing over gyro meat and rice cooker.” “Ceiling/ceiling tile shows damage or is in disrepair. Observed a spray bottle with chlorine (as per operator) not labeled.” “Spray bottle containing toxic substance not labeled. “Required employee training expired for all employees.” “No soap provided at hand wash sink located next to three compartment sink.

Observed 1 flying insect flying in the air and landing on gyro meat and equipment.” “Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food preparation area, food storage area and/or bar area. The Department has discretion on who is ordered shut and who is not and it should NOT be that way.Īll the places that were ordered shut were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection. Some places were ordered shut, others were warned and require a follow up inspection.

When we find something we like (as we did with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Springhill Suites, and now The Moonlight Diner).Below is a list of places recently inspected by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation in South Florida. All things said, we will definitely go there again next September when we again will be staying the night at Springhill Suites the night before we board our cruise on Harmony of the Seas. We were there on the early side of the dinner hour so we had no wait to be seated. The Moonlight Diner seems to attract a lot of repeat business as customers were greeted by name in many cases as we ate.
Our food was brought out to us quickly and it was delicious and Tatjana checked back with us frequently throughout the meal. She greeted us with a big smile and a wonderful laugh. I ordered the Meatloaf dinner and my wife chose "breakfast for dinner". We had eaten fast food all the way on our drive from TN so we wanted a real meal for the final night prior to boardingIndependence of the Seas for a five night Caribbean cruise. The Diner is very clean and the staff is friendly and efficient in waiting on customers. Convenient to our usual hotel (Springhill Suites by Marriott), the Diner was directly across the street from our hotel. On our way for another cruise out of Port Everglades in Ft.Lauderdale, FL, we had a "night before embarkation" dinner at the Moonlight Diner in Dania Beach.
